How global is my brain?

Going through my archive made me wonder about the pictures in my brain – actually in the brains of all of us who have access to images, movies or tv or who travel outside their home countries. We have seen so many more pictures from different parts of the globe than the generations before us! Far away buildings and people become part of our visual dictionary and may populate our dreams. That is what this series is all about. While I approach the picture flood lightheartedly, of course I wonder what it does to us to feel this strange familiarity about people and cultures that we often know next to nothing about.
